Personalized Notepads

When trying to decide what to do for the attendees of my spring scrapbook retreat this year, I came across this notepad here. That notepad became my starting point but not my ending point because I decided to use a different notepad of paper which was a different size and also make it refillable. Here is the finished one I came up with.

Supplies: 10"x 12" piece of cardstock, 4 1/2" x 6" dp, 2" x 4 3/4" coordinating paper, border punch, scallop punch, circle punch, ribbon, adhesive tape, scratch pad, pen.

Directions:
1. On the 12" side of the cs, score at 6 1/4" all the way across; score on the 10" side at 4 3/4" and 5 1/4". This gives you the (2) 4 3/4" x 6 1/4" front and back and the 1/2" side.

2. Cut the 1/2" strip out from the bottom portion of the cs (should measure 1/2" x 5 3/4"); cut the left bottom piece so that from the score line down is 3".

3. Add the adhesive tape along the sides of the flaps and a piece to hold the ribbon for the pen and the ribbon to tie.

4. Add the ribbon pieces as shown. Fold the flaps up and adhere in place.

Next, add the other piece of ribbon to the front of the cs making sure it is aligned with inside piece on the opposite side.

Next, punch the 2" x 4 3/4" paper with the border punch, punch a scallop from the cs cut out off from the left flap, punch a 1 1/2" circle for the center. Assemble the front pieces as shown and personalize.

Add the scratch pad and pen inside. I also made a 2010 calendar in Publisher for the inside left side pocket. I got my scratch pads at Office Depot and the cardboard backing slides into the pocket we made on the right side. I found some inexpensive mini pens at Staples. Office Depot had some but the ones at Staples were cheaper.

Tie the ribbons in a bow to close the notepad. Voila! What do you think, cute, huh?

This is my first tutorial so I hope you were able to understand the directions.
