Hey Ferb, look at what I did!

A friend from church that is a middle school teacher mentioned doing his bulletin board with Phineas & Ferb this school year. I offered to see if I could cut the characters out with my cricut. I got Make the Cut not long ago and used it to make them. That program is amazing! It wasn't difficult to do and I think they turned out great. Of course since they were for a bulletin board, I just had to get the 24x12 mats.

Phineas mtc file

Perry mtc file

Candace mtc file

I used 2 sheets of black cs for each of them but overlapped in the center of the mat by about 1/4". I also cut out the letters for "Hey Ferb, I know what we're going to do today!" and I think I am going to cut out " Mr. Cooper!" for Candace in place of "Mom!". I'll post pictures of the completed bulletin board when he gets it up.

Critter Sketch Challenge #24

It's Monday so that means another wonderful challenge at the Critter Sketch Challenge blog. This week it is a sketch challenge.

This is also the last week with our July sponsor, Robyn's Fetish. If you haven't visited her store yet, you need to. She has some great digital images. As a matter of fact, I used one of her digital images for my DT card.

That little guy looks like he could be saying "Miss You", "Feel Better Soon", "I'm Sorry" or just any number of things. I used watercolor pencils to color the image and added gold Stickles to the center of the flowers. the purple dp is CM and the pink dp is some misc. paper I had. I cut the image with a scallop circle Spellbinders die and then cut the black mat with one size up. I added the white dots on each of the black scallops with a white gel pen. I thought the inside needed some attention also so I added the purple mat and white cs and the black strip with the same purple and pink dp.

Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to check out the rest of the design team's creations.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM!

I am hosting my first swap on Splitcoast Stampers. I have participated in numerous swaps for page kits but I don't always use the borders so I thought I would host a borderless summertime page kit swap. I made a kit with an ice cream theme. Yum! I used the SU Sweet Scoops set for my inspiration.

I stamped and scanned in the scoop of ice cream. I then brought the scanned image into Make the Cut (loving this program). I just used a triangle for the cone and embossed the cone with Sizzix Harlequin plate and the ice cream with Sizzix Flourish plate (both from SU). I cut the tag with Tags, Bags, Boxes & More. The word "sweet" is cut with Cuttin' Up. I sponged the edges of the pink scoops of ice cream with Pretty in Pink SU ink. The polka dot dp is Doodlebug Design. I picked it up at the scrapbook expo in Duluth, GA. It thought it just screamed ice cream. I got the ribbon at the expo also but to my suprise the business is located about 20 mins from me. I will be visiting them often. The large scoop of chocolate is an added bonus. I messed up on the sizing for the journal box and had to re-cut them so I threw the darker chocolate in anyway.

Makes me want a big scoop of cold, creamy ice cream! Perfect for hot summertime weather.

Thanks for stopping by! I would love to know what you think about it so please leave a comment.

Marking your place

I am participating in a bookmark swap on Splitcoast Stampers. I am an avid reader but I am always misplacing bookmarks. This is a great way to combine three of my favorite things: paper crafting, reading and my Cricut.

The first bookmark I made used the Home Accents and George cartridges. I used the accent at the top and bottom of the bookmark from the Home Accents cartridge with a rounded corner rectangle from the George cartridge. I didn't like how DS was welding them together so I pulled them into Make the Cut and it turned out great. ( I can't tell you how to do this because they are copyright images from a Cricut cartridge but it was pretty easy.) The image I stamped is from SU's Oh So Lovely set and colored with watercolor pencils. I then used my Zig 2 way glue pen and went around the edges and dabbed in black glitter. I punched a hole in the top for a black eyelet and added two different fibers.

The next bookmark I made using my Cricut also. The image is from the Home Accents cartridge.

The Gable Green piece is cut at 3" and the white piece is cut at 2 7/8". I used my new gel pens called Cri-Kits on this card. They are gel pens for the Cricut and used just like the markers. I picked them up at scrapbook expo I attended last weekend. More about those in another post. The one I used was a pink glitter one. You can see the glitter a little in the 2nd photo. How did I do this? I'm glad you asked! LOL! This particular image has two cut lines - an inner and an outer. When I cut the 2 7/8" piece, I first hid the outer line using the "hide" feature in Design Studio. I then had the Cricut draw the pink line on the inner cut line. I did this twice to get a darker pink. I then "unhid" the outer line and "hid" the inner line and had the Cricut cut it. It was several steps but I like the effect. I can't wait to play with those pens some more. The sentiment is from SU's Quotes To Live By set and stamped in Pink Passion. The vine is from SU's Vintage Vogue and stamped in Green Galore. I added a Flora Doodles flower and some SU Pretty in Pink ribbon.

Who wouldn't want to mark their place with one of these? Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Challenges one or both qualify for:
Anything Goes Challenge Blog: sparkle and shine
Aud Sentiments: Challenge #6 - no sentiment (my first bookmark)

Next week I am going to post about some of the booths and products I saw at the scrapbook expo recently in Atlanta, GA. Why not become a follower or, better yet, subscribe so won't miss a thing!

Critter Sketch Challenge #22

Hello! It's Monday so that means another wonderful challenge on the Critter Sketch Challenge blog. This week's challenge is an inspiration challenge - to create a card or project with the theme of Thank You to celebrate what we are thankful for. A new month also means a new sponsor. July's sponsor is Robyn's Fetish. There are so many wonderful images available at Robyn's Fetish, I am sure you will find an image or two (or more) that you like. Just take a look at how cute the one I used is.

All the paper and ribbon are SU. I used SU markers to color the image. The dragonfly wings have Dazzling Diamonds glitter and the flower centers have Crystal Effects added. The white panel was cut with CM cutting system, sponged with Choc. Chip ink and mounted to a Choc. Chip scalloped oval cut with a Spellbinders die and my Big Shot. The yellow and brown pieces are punched with a MS border punch.

Supplies:
paper - all SU (Choc. Chip, So Saffron, dp)
image - digital image from Robyn's Fetish
sentiment - from SU's Friend to Friend set
SU markers, Dazzling diamond glitter, Crystal Effects, MS border punch, SU Choc. Chip ribbon, dimensionals

Be sure and check out the wonderful creations by the other DT members:
