Major deals this weekend!

This was my lucky weekend! At ladies craft night Friday night, one person brought a punch of chipboard they didn't want. There were letters, shapes and lots of pieces with words and sentiments. They were all colored chipboard pieces ready to be used. No one else wanted them so of course I took them. Saturday I went to a big sale at a LSS that was closing. This particular LSS had a lot of outdated stuff but I managed to find quite a bit for only $50. Take a look at what I got.

456 buttons, 575 eyelets, 26 brads, 28 charms, 4 packs dimensional stickers, 1 box black photo corners, 1 pack of 5 Cutterbee blades, 1 sheet soccer tag stickers, 2 boxes paper dyes, 4 metal mini buckets, 12 zig markers, misc ribbon, 57 sheets 12x12 paper, 14 sheets metallic paper, 80 sheets 8.5x11 paper, 10 sheets 12x13 paper, 60 card size envelopes, Stamping Diary notebook! woo hoo! I love a good sale.

Roses, Circles, Butterflies and fishing!

I organized a Ladies Craft Night at my church. Everyone was to bring whatever craft they enjoy to work on. I didn't want to leave out any ladies that didn't do any type of crafting so I came up with four cards and a mini scrapbook album. I pre-cut all the pieces for each card and typed up the directions for each.

This card is my favorite. I used the Circle Circus set from SU on the top half. The striped dp was some I picked up at HL and I don't know because as a whole 12x12 sheet it was not appealing. I really like it on this card though. I added a strip of cs in Really Rust to tie the dp and stamped part together. The word is popped up with dimensionals.

I got the idea for this card from this card on SCS. I tweaked it a little to make it more "supply" friendly. I used the MS doily edge punch for the white and black. The stamp set is SU Elements of Style.

This is another card I cased from SCS. The cased card is here. I decided to use the border punch on the top of the kraft piece also. The butterflies are punced and embossed with the SU Sizzix Embosslit Beautiful Wings. I ended up using the CM butterfly punch for the craft night cards though because punching went much faster and I needed 20 in each color.

This last card is for the guys. The base is SU Kraft cs. The dp is some old CM paper I had. One is green checked and the other is a brown plaid. I stamped the image in Choc. Chip and swiped the edges of the vanilla cs across the Forest Green ink pad. The image piece is popped up with dimensionals.

We didn't have a big group for our first craft night but those that came really enjoyed making the cards and some even tried their hand at creating their own designs. I had brought lots of extra supplies for them to work with. I'll post the mini photo album just as soon as I take photos of it. It is a really easy and quick album to make.

Red, Striped & Summery!

It's time for another Monday challenge at the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog! This week we have a special challenge hostess from our very own DT, Moira Coward from DT #1! Here is her challenge to us: use the color red and striped patterned paper somewhere on your creation. I'd love to see something summer related. It can be a scrapbook page from a trip this summer or summers past or a summer related activity. If you create a card or other project, it could contain suns, bright colors, etc. The sky's the limit but remember - color red, striped patterned paper and summery.

I've got about 75 gift card holders to make so thought I would think along those lines. I really like making this pocket card but I'll not be making 75. You can find the directions for this double diagonal pocket card here on SCS.

I used SU cs and the dp is from the Basic Grey Lemonade Paper Pad. The felt flowers are SU and the felt butterfly and ladybug on the tag is from K&Company. I hand cut the tag and added SU ribbon.

It's not a difficult pocket card to make but I used solid color cardstock instead of double sided paper so that added to the time. I really like how it turned out though.

limeLight Papercrafts is our sponsor for the month of August. If you haven't visited their website, hop on over there. They are having a great sale and have some fabulous products! I've got an order on the way and can't wait to play.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:

*** Original Scrapbox contest! ***

I found the most wonderfully amazing contest and giveaway. It is for a Limited Edition Workbox! The Original Scrapbox is giving one away. It is valued at $1495.00 and the winner gets to pick their choice of color/style! I found this wonderfully amazing giveaway at My Creative Time. Oh my, I'm just imagining all those boxes filled my scrapbooking and stamping stuff. And hey, maybe my husband would have room to move back into our home office (which is now my craft room because he claims I pushed him out with all my stuff). Naw, this will just give me more room to play! If you want a chance at winning this, hurry and enter. The contest ends August 20th.

Critter Challenge #26

It's Monday so that means it's time for another great challenge for the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog. This week our very own Lisa Somerville is our guest sketch designer. She designed this wonderful sketch for us this week.
limeLight Papercrafts is the sponsor for August. If you haven't checked them out, you need to head over there.
I thought Lisa's sketch would make a perfect layout for my oldest daughter's ballet class photo. The bg paper and long dp piece is from Paper Studio's Serendipity paper stack. I matted the dp on SU cs (can't figure out which color). I used the SU Scallop Trim corner & border punches on the photo mat which is from Paper Studio's Textured Cardstock stack. The title is from CM and the flowers are Prima with some pearls in the center.
What do you think? Be sure to check out the other DT members' projects.
Thanks for stopping by!

Family portrait LO

I am participating in a swap on SCS for single 12x12 pages to be used for family portraits. This is the page I created for it. The bg paper, striped dp and green cs is from HL. The LO sketch is from a Creating Keepsakes book I got several years ago on QVC. It is called Scrapbooking with Lisa Bearnson. The photo mat is for a 5x7 photo and I punched the corners of the mat with an All Night Media punch. I cut the scallops for Family in the striped dp and black with Spellbinders scalloped oval die. Family was cut with the Storybook cartridge and cricut. I used some misc. cs for it.

I cut the chipboard tags with my Cricut and Tags/Bags cartridge. I then cut pieces of the cs and striped dp to fit and tore the tops at an angle. The stamp used is from SU's Elements in Style set. I stamped it in versamark and embossed with black ep. I hole punched and added ribbon to complete the tag.

Thanks for stopping by! I love to get comments so please let me know what you think.

Lemonade & polka dots

This week is my off week for DT duties at Critter Sketch Challenge but I thought I would play along. The challenge is a sketch challenge and to use 2 different ribbons. The first challenge of the month also means a new sponsor. Our wonderful sponsor for August is Limelight Papercrafts. They are having a great MOVING sale so be sure to check it out.

The yellow card base is from HL and the two dp are from Paper Studio Serendipity paper stacks. The mat paper is from Paper Studio Textured cs paper stack. The stamp is from SU and I colored it with SU markers (Yo Yo Yellow, Gable Green, Bliss blue, Rose Red, and Cameo Coral). The yellow ribbon is SU and the white ribbon is misc from my stash. Let's not forget the inside. I often do but this time decided to add the same papers inside.

I am also submitting it for the following challenges:
One Stop Craft Challenge: use patterns
Cute Card Thursday: open theme

thanks for stopping by!

Phineas & Ferb bulletin board

Here is a photo of the completed bulletin board I did for a teacher friend.
