Adorning Vintage Twitterpated

I'm still playing with new stuff from the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs. I am loving everything! Here is a card I made for a friend who could really use a lot of prayer as she battles cancer.
I used the Adorning Accents Edgelits and matching Adorning Accents Embossing Folder with the Twitterpated DSP. These are available in the Occasions Mini catalog along with the pleated ribbon. The stamp set is Fresh Vintage and is one of the items you can get FREE for a $50 order. There are so many fabulous products in the Sale-A-Bration catalog! You can check it out for yourself by clicking the link on the right.
I finished the inside of the card too since the Riding Hood Red is a little dark. The flowers in the corner are from the same stamp set, Fresh Vintage.

Thanks for stopping by! I love to read your comments so be sure to say hi!

I've been playing with new stuff from the 2012 Occasions mini catalo and the Sale-A-Bration catalog. This is another project for Valentine's.

I used the stamp, Candy Conversations, and inked it with the Poppy Parade and Lucky Limeade markers, then stamped it on Very Vanilla cs. The dp is from Everyday Enchantment paper pack which you can get FREE from the Sale-A-Bration catalog which begins Jan. 24th. For every $50 you spend, you get to choose something absolutely FREE from this special catalog. The ribbon is the new Pool Party seam binding.

There you have it! I very simple and easy Valentine's card!

A Tisket A Tasket case

A few months ago I discovered a wonderful event full of amazing designers sharing their fabulous projects. It is U Stamp with Dawn and Friends. They have different events throughout the year geared around Stampin Up products and catalogs. We are just finishing up one focused on scoring. This is my third event and I finally tried one of the projects.

I tried a project by Sharon Fields which she shared for the Score U Stamp with Dawn and Friends event.

So, now that I've made one project, I can't wait to try some others. It's not too late to get in on the fun with this event. There is also a new one starting in February featuring the Big Shot! You can find out more information at U Stamp with Dawn and Friends.

Be My Valentine

Wow, two days in a row for posts! I have busy in my craft room getting ready for Valentine's and workshop projects. This is a possible workshop project.

I used the new Adorning Accents Embossing Folder (you actually get three different ones) on the Whisper White cs. The stamped heart is from P.S. I Love You stamp set and punched with the Full Heart punch and the other large heart is punched from Red Glimmer paper. The little heart on the Be My Valentine stamp is from the new Fashionable Hearts Embosslit die.

On the inside I added another heart from the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit die and stamped the love you stamp from P.S. I Love You set across the bottom.

supplies used:
paper: Real Red, Whisper White, Red Glimmer, Pink Pirouette
Stamps: P.S. I Love You, Delightful Dozen
Ink: Real Red, Choc. Chip
other: Choc Chip ribbon, Fashionable Hearts Embosslit, Adorning Accents Embossing Folder, Full Heart punch, Big Shot

Interlocking hearts

I had an idea for this card when I saw a card made by SU demonstrator, Mary Brown. You can view her card here. Her use of the heart framelits is what gave me the idea for this card.

I started with Pool Party cs and made a gate fold card. I used the Everday Enchantment paper from the upcoming Sale-a-bration catalog for the front panels. I love that paper!!! I then cut Poppy Parade cs with the new Hearts Framelits in the 2012 Occasions Mini catalog.

I adhered the largest cut heart and the smallest heart to the left panel and the middle cut heart to the right panel.

The above photo gives you a better view of which hearts are on which panel.

I used the heart that was left from the larger heart on the front for the inside. The stamp used is from P.S. I Love You in the Occasions mini as well as the frame it is in. I punched them out with the Modern Label punch and popped up with dimensionals.

Supplies used:
paper: Pool Party, Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Everyday Enchantment dp
ink: Poppy Parade, Pool Party
other: Hearts Framelits, dimensionals

I hope you liked my project. Be sure to say Hi before you leave!

Dueling Tea Cups

Today's cards are inspired by a comment I received on SCS on this card. The commentor said it looked like it had white embossing on the tea cup. This gave me the idea to try a technique I hadn't tried before, Emboss Resist. You can find directions for the technique here. It is basically when you heat emboss an image and then you apply ink to the un-embossed areas by sponging. You then wipe the image off and the ink will not stick to the embossed part. It's like MAGIC. I tried a different method of applying color on the pink card and explain how I did it below. On the commented card, the flowers on the tea cup are the color of the cardstock it is stamped on. I wanted to add color to the flowers and thought this technique would be perfect to do that. And it was!

Both of these cards are for the SUO challenge 36, Try a New Technique. Yep, did that with Emboss Resist and a second never-before-tried technique on the pink card. The sketch is from Stamping 411 challenge 237.

The tea cup on the above card was stamped with Versamark on Whisper White cs and clear embossing powder.

I mentioned a different method to apply the color. I don't have any sponge daubers and my sponges wedges are difficult to use to apply multi colors in tight areas. I used the sponges on the white card. A light bulb came on and I thought, well the markers are the same ink as the ink pads so why not try those. I used the brush tip of the markers to go over the areas I wanted to be Island Indigo and Pear Pizazz, then wiped the embossed image off and voila! It worked wonderfully! Now for the second technique used on this card. It's hard to tell in the photo but the tea cup on the pink card is Blushing Bride. I used the technique where you ink the stamp with Versamark first and then the color ink of choice before stamping. When you stamp the image, the Versamark becomes the top layer for the embossing powder. I have wondered about this technique but never tried it. It's great!

I really love the detail on the tea cup colored in. It just adds so much to the tea cup.

Supplies (all SU):
Paper- Blushing Bride, Island Indigo, Pear Pizazz, Whisper White, Twitterpated dp (Occasions Mini)
Ink- Blushing Bride, Pear Pizazz, Island Indigo, Versamark
Stamps- Tea Shoppe
Other- clear ep, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Pennant die, Modern Label punch, dimensionals, sponges.

Thanks for stopping by! I would love to know what you think about today's projects.

SCS sketch challenge - SC366

Woo hoo, another card made! This card was made for Splitcoast Stamper's sketch challenge, SC366. I strayed from the sketch a little by using ribbon across the bottom instead of a row of circles.

the large tea cup from the stamp set, Tea Shoppe, was stamped on Very Vanilla cs in Poppy Parade ink. I hand cut the tag and sponged the edges with Pool Party. The tea cup and tag are popped up with dimensionals.

Supplies (all SU):
Paper - Very Vanilla, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Poppy Parade, Everyday Enchantment dp (SAB)
Ink: Poppy Parade, Pool Party
Stamps: Tea Shoppe
Other: twine, Crochet Trim, dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by! I would love to know what you think of today's projects so please leave a comment.

SUO35 - Valentine Owls

I finally made it into my craft room! Woo hoo! I have lots of new stamp sets and tools to play with so I'm excited to finally be able to. Challenges are a great way to help with motivation and inspiration. SUO (SU-Only) challenge 35 provided me with inspiration for this card. The challenge was to use punches in a way that they are the focal point.

I used some new and some old for this card. There are a couple of sneak peaks from the SU Occasions Mini catalog. The dp is from a designer series pack called Twitterpated and the hearts are made with a new embosslit for the Big Shot called Fashionable Hearts. I think I may have my husband's Valentine card!

Supplies used (all SU):
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red, Twitterpated dp
Ink: Basic Black
Delightful Dozen stamp set, Red/White Baker's Twine
Owl Builder punch, Eyelet Border punch
Fashionable Hearts Embosslits, Dimensionals

I hope you like my project!
